Import and Export of steel from and to countries outside the European Union (or however countries for which do not exist commercial agreements in preferential origin systems) are regulated by severe protocols recently enriched with a new measure: infact , the 11st of July, has been published in the Gazzetta Ufficiale magazine, the D.Lgs. n. 100/2011, that disciplines the radomietric control activities that have to be established for products and half-processed metals imported from Extra UE countries.
The decree forces those who, for commercial or industrial purposes, import, collect, create depots or use for melt aim scraps or other wasted material, or half-processed metals, to submit goods to the radioactivity control.
The law is part of a series of provisions designed to ensure the protection of health, already being adopted for some years and were accelerated sharply after the nuclear accident in Fukushima, Japan.
Please see below Annex containing the list of materials affected by aforementioned decree.
Franzosini carries out radiometric controls at any Custom clearances branch.
