Our History — Franzosini SA, Chiasso (Ticino, Switzerland)
Over a century of excellence in transport: from 1867 to today, the roots of a tradition looking to the future.
1867: The presence of Luciano Franzosini is documented in Italy as a forwarding house. The activity takes place along the main commercial routes between Italy and Switzerland, during a period of great momentum for cross-border trade.
1912: Operational presence in Chiasso attested as a branch linked to the Italian headquarters. The border position and customs function make Chiasso a natural point for cross-border services.
1925: The Swiss structure is formalized as a joint-stock company with denomination referring to Milan and headquarters in Chiasso. Customs and shipping operations consolidate.
1929: On March 28, the SA Luciano Franzosini branch is established in Chiasso. The company begins its growth phase on Swiss territory, becoming a reference point for cross-border transport.
1931: A commercial document testifies to activities with Italian clients. The Swiss headquarters consolidates as a structure dedicated to cross-border shipping and customs practices.
1934: Correspondence describes an organized network of connections, with operational relationships involving multiple Italian cities and foreign contacts.
1936: Over 500 freight forwarders went on strike in Chiasso, marking a crucial moment in the sector's industrial relations. SA Luciano Franzosini was the first signatory of the collective labour agreement ratified on 29 June 1936, the first in the Swiss forwarding industry.
1945–60: Reconstruction and revival in the post-war period. Franzosini consolidates its presence in Switzerland, accompanying the recovery of European commercial flows. Meeting minutes confirm corporate continuity.
1970–90: Consolidation in the Ticino market. Expansion of the correspondent network in Europe, expansion of maritime and air services with connections to all continents.
1995: Obtaining ISO 9001 (quality) certification. A concrete commitment to process and service quality.
2003: Obtaining ISO 14001 (environmental) certification. Franzosini is the first Ticino company in international transport to obtain ISO 14001.
2007: Opening of Franzosini Italia S.r.l. (originally Transubria S.r.l.) in Ponte Chiasso (CO), Italian customs correspondent for logistics support directly on the Italian side of the border.
2008: New branches at the Gaggiolo (VA) and Ponte Tresa (VA) customs posts. Customs expansion in the Varese area to serve cross-border commercial flows.
2020: Foundation of Franzosini Monaco Sarl in the Principality of Monaco. Commercial office and high-value goods logistics in the western Mediterranean.
2021: Opening of Franzosini & Butti Limited offices in the UK (Dover, Felixstowe) to handle post-Brexit customs complexities. In the same year, EZdatacenter SA is founded, the group's IT arm, with a document digitalization platform now serving over 3,000 clients.
2022: 15 October: obtaining AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) authorization in Switzerland and the EU. Dual authorization for cross-border operations.
2023: Integration into Tepoorten Group SA, a holding bringing together companies active in logistics, transport, logistics real estate and digitalization.
2025: 11 May: ISO 27001 certification (information security). 21 June: GDP SQS certification (Good Distribution Practice) for the pharmaceutical sector.
Today: Over 95 years of history. D&B Risk Indicator 1, the best risk class. Over 100,000 annual shipments managed across 5 countries. Top 100 in Switzerland by traffic volume.
