We are looking for a sales professional with experience in international freight forwarding to develop and consolidate the client portfolio in the Switzerland-Italy-Europe cross-border area.
The position is within the sales department at the Stabio headquarters, reporting directly to the Sales Director. The role involves developing new business relationships and managing existing clients, with a particular focus on Switzerland-Italy transport corridors and integrated customs operations. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic, multilingual environment, interacting daily with clients, operational partners and internal departments (operations, customs, logistics).
Business development: Identify and acquire new clients in the international freight segment, with particular focus on CH-IT cross-border traffic and European corridors.
Client portfolio management: Consolidate relationships with existing clients, monitoring volumes, margins and service levels to ensure maximum satisfaction and retention.
Logistics consultancy: Analyse client needs and propose customised transport and logistics solutions, including customs services, warehousing and distribution.
Internal coordination: Collaborate with operations, customs and logistics departments to ensure flawless execution of sold services and timely resolution of any issues.
Reporting and analysis: Prepare periodic reports on commercial performance, analyse market trends and contribute to defining the company's commercial strategy.
At least 3 years of experience in a sales role in the freight forwarding, transport or international logistics sector
Knowledge of customs operations and Switzerland-EU import/export regulations
Excellent command of Italian and at least one of German, French or English
Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with a results-oriented mindset
Willingness to travel in the Switzerland-Italy area and occasionally across Europe
Residence or willingness to relocate to Canton Ticino or the border provinces
Good command of the Microsoft 365 suite and familiarity with freight management software (e.g. Daco/Fastlogistic)
Hands-on experience in client management and customer relations
Active client portfolio in the CH-IT cross-border area
Excellent knowledge of German (C1 level or equivalent) is considered a strong asset; additional language skills, particularly French and English, are also valued
