We are looking for a customs declaration assistant for the Chiasso branch, with knowledge of customs clearance procedures and a desire to grow professionally in the customs sector.
The customs declaration assistant will work alongside experienced declarants in the preparation and management of import/export customs clearance dossiers at the Chiasso branch. You will handle preliminary document verification, data entry in customs systems and support in goods classification. The role represents an excellent training and growth opportunity in the customs sector, at a strategic border point for trade flows between Switzerland and Italy.
Customs declaration support: Working alongside experienced declarants in preparing customs clearance dossiers, with data entry in customs systems and preliminary document verification.
Document verification: Checking the completeness and accuracy of goods accompanying documentation (invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, transport documents).
Goods classification: Support in tariff classification of goods and application of customs duties, under the supervision of senior declarants.
Commercial training (Federal VET Diploma or equivalent)
Basic knowledge of Swiss customs procedures
Good command of IT tools (Office, digital document management)
Precision, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
Fluent Italian; German or English are a plus
Initial experience in a freight forwarding company or customs office
Familiarity with Fastlogistics (DACO) software
